Phaeochromocytoma is a rare tumour of the adrenal gland medulla characterized by excess catecholamine release. Classic presentation includes paroxysms of hypertension and adrenergic symptoms such as headache, sweating, shortness of breath, and tachycardia. In severe cases, patients might develop hypertensive crises and cardiomyopathy.
